Decent flavor, puzzling presentation.

This was the first WAC meal we tried (last week) because it looked and sounded so appetizing. We crocked it and served it over egg noodles. The flavor was subtle in intensity (for etouffee) but good and unique enough to provide some variety to the meals we prepare at home. What puzzled us the most was that the beef came in a single solitary brick (about 70% the size of a 4-stick box of butter) in each serving. By being in a huge chunk (instead of smaller sections as in the photos), when cut after serving it lacked much flavor (we suspect because the surface area soaking in the sauce was so small vs if it was cut into smaller pieces). The meat was tender enough to cut easily but it was not fall apart with your fork tender (as with roast beef), which we guess is to be expected based on the cut of meat used.
We would probably buy a different 'New Orleans' style meal to try for the flavor, but doubt we'll be ordering this one again (which is a shame because one of us loves etouffee). Still, it was decent meal that could provide suitable variety in meal planning and is worth a try to see if it is appealing to your tastes. We are looking forward to trying the bell peppers tonight.

Amazing!

This has been our favorite so far. Large portions, lots of gravy, very tender meat, and super flavorful. Have already ordered it again!

Delicious

This was the first dinner we’ve tried from What a Crock. Made this in the instant pot straight from the freezer...it was a quick and delicious dinner! Our 4 year old even enjoyed it. It was so nice to come home from a busy day and have dinner on the table in about an hour and do nothing more than cut open a bag and turn on the instant pot!
Looking forward to trying more meals from our bundle!
